Alpbach is a picturesque village in the Tyrolean Alps, at the foot of Mt. Gratlspitz, declared as the "Austria’s Most Beautiful Village" and "Europe’s Most Beautiful Flower Village". The village is also referred to as "The Village Of Thinkers", as it hosts the annual Alpbach European Forum. Alpbach is connected to airports in Innsbruck (60 km), Salzburg (150 km) and Munich (160 km) via public transport, see Arrival Instructions here.
The workshop takes place in the Rogger Hall of Congress Centre Alpbach. According to Wikipedia: "With its combination of exciting architecture and a minimum environmental footprint, the main architectural feature is a spiral shaped gallery with floor-to-ceiling glazing for a unique view of the spectacular mountain backdrop." Congress Centre Alpbach is advertised as barrier-free and a green-meeting destination with a focus on sustainable conferencing.
The Alpbachtal valley offers a variety of summer activities for those traveling with family or looking to spend a few extra nights in the area, see e.g. Alpbachtal Tourismus.
