Description
As a national data competence center with a focus on Saxony, Come2Data aims to foster the practical development of data literacy across diverse sectors, including academia, public administration, the general public, and, in the future, the private sector. The project consoli-dates existing data science training and support offerings from participating institutions, leveraging expertise in research data management (e.g., SaxFDM), the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI), high-performance computing, and advanced analytical methods for data-intensive, interdisciplinary research applications such as artificial intelligence and data modeling (e.g., ScADS.AI).
The primary objective is to integrate and synergize the diverse local, regional, and national activities in Saxony into a sustainable training and support framework. This framework em-phasizes key areas such as data management, data integration, data analysis, and data pub-lication. A centralized virtual platform serves as the cornerstone for this initiative, providing researchers, educators, and learners with access to resources, training, and networking op-portunities.
A critical component of this platform is the implementation of a sustainable support system in the form of a (Legal) Helpdesk. This Helpdesk offers comprehensive Level-1 support through a knowledge base and facilitates specialized Level-2 support by connecting users with domain experts.
Here, we introduce the solutions developed over the past two years to address the technical, infrastructural, and organizational challenges of this initiative: we implemented IAM4nfdi as CAAI to access the various educational and support resources of SuiteCRM, which we set up as an open source modular system with integrated data base (Maria DB with possibility to RDF format conversion/sparkle endpoint) and ticket module, just to name a few milestones.
Pursuing this path, we aim to contribute to the development of data competencies in Saxony and beyond, fostering a robust and sustainable data ecosystem.
