Description
In this contribution, we show how Germany has more than 200 research data management (RDM) helpdesks operating largely in isolation, creating a decentralization problem. Since many researcher's questions are multi-dimensional, and not location- or domain-specific, single helpdesks often cannot provide the needed expertise. Support4RDM addresses this with concrete visions to create a socio-technical infrastructure: workflow development, ticketing system, a helpdesk catalogue, and a chatbot. The initiative has broad and active community support and will add a missing puzzle piece for NFDI and RDM in Germany.
