Description
pid4cat closes the gap between lab systems and the global PID graph. It mints Handle.Net-based identifiers where samples originate: in the ELN, not much later at publication time. It gives every PID metadata: status, type, curation contact, license, change history and DataCite-like relations to other PIDs. Partners manage their own namespace. A Handle server, in production since 2024, is extended with a new PID-registry API service. The system is open source, domain-agnostic, and looks for adopters beyond catalysis.
