Description
MathModDB, a mathematical knowledge graph developed within the Mathematical Research Data Initiative (MaRDI), exists in two forms: a formally rigorous OWL ontology and a Wikibase-based knowledge graph in the MaRDI portal that enables open, community-driven curation. Without coordination, these two representations risk drifting apart over time. The TS4NFDI incubator project TS4MathModDB addresses this by integrating MathModDB into the TS4NFDI Terminology Service while keeping the MaRDI portal as the master copy, and by developing mechanisms to keep the OWL ontology synchronized with it. Beyond the technical synchronization, this integration enables cross-consortia collaboration. The talk argues that such synchronization work, though often invisible, is essential infrastructure for research knowledge graphs spanning multiple technological worlds.
