The ESO Supernova (https://supernova.eso.org) is a free astronomy centre for the public located on Campus Garching. Participants of the AG Meeting are welcome to visit the ESO Supernova exhibition (for free) or experience a planetarium show (6,50 Euro per person).
Opening hours: Wednesday & Thursday 9:00-17:00
To visit the exhibition there is no need for any prior registration. Simply drop by during the stated opening hours.

Please note that the planetarium programme for September will be published by end of May. Most planetarium shows are in German, however, there are a limited number of translation headsets available at the reception desk of ESO Supernova so that the narration of the film can be heard in English. Please note that the first half of most shows is presented live and for this section there is no translation.
Guided tours through ESO Headquarters
For participants of the AG Meeting special guided tours (max. 25 people each) through the ESO Headquarters building on Garching Campus are being offered. Normally these tours are only available for private groups at a cost of 200 Euro but ESO is happy to offer these for free for the AG Meeting participants. Tours last ca. 1 hour and the meeting point for the tours is in the foyer area of ESO Supernova. Please find here the link(s) to book your place for one of the tours:
