The year 2023 is slowly coming to a close. To celebrate the end of the year, we would like to invite you all to the
MPI AGE Winter Symposium & Winter Party 2023 on December 20th.
The symposium will be held in the MPI AGE Auditorium and will start at 3:30 pm with the traditional Managing Director talk and a talk by external speaker David Gems (UCL, UK).
From 5 pm we will celebrate the end of the year with the Winter Party in the Atrium. We will provide drinks (mulled wine, beer, non-alcoholic options) and dinner from Shukran (thanks to donations from MPI Directors, Group Leads, Core Facilities Leads, and members of the Administration). We kindly ask people to bring their own mugs for drinks.
In addition to the traditional Window Decorating Contest and Ugly Sweater Contest, we also developed a Winter Olympics with a series of unique games.
Winter Olympics: Form groups of 4-6 with your lab/facility/department colleagues and sign up by sending an Email with your team-name to wintersymposium@age.mpg.de until the 8th of December. (Convince your PI/Head of Facility/Department to join and receive an extra point).
Window Decoration Contest: The deadline for decorating and registering your group is Dec. 08, 2023. To register, please email wintersymposium@age.mpg.de with the name of the group, the number of the room/location where the decoration will be placed, and, if you like, a brief description of the theme. The group with the best decoration will be awarded a prize!
Information for participants of the flex time system:
Participants of the flex time system who are present at the Winter party will be credited with their working hours until 6:00 p.m. Please keep in mind that the maximum hours of 10 hours/day should not be exceeded, as after that time the hours will expire and cannot be credited. If you leave the institute during the day, e. g. to drink a "Glühwein" at the Christmas market with colleagues, please do not forget to clock out and clock in again when you return. Administration asks you to take note of this.
Participation fee for the winter party: Internal: 5€, Children (younger than 10 year) for free, Children (10 years and older): 5€, External Guests: 9€

Das Kalenderjahr 2023 neigt sich langsam dem Ende zu. Um das Ende des Jahres zu feiern, möchten wir euch alle zum
MPI AGE Winter Symposium & Winter Party 2023 am 20. Dezember einladen.
Das Symposium findet im MPI AGE Auditorium statt und beginnt um 15:30 Uhr mit dem traditionellen Managing Direktor Vortrag und einem Vortrag des externen Referenten David Gems (UCL, UK).
Ab 17.00 Uhr feiern wir den Jahresausklang mit der Winterparty im Atrium. Wir sorgen für Getränke (Glühwein, Bier, alkoholfreie Optionen) und Abendessen von Shukran (dank der Spenden der MPI Direktor*innen, Gruppenleitungen, Leitungen der Core Facilities und Mitgliedern der Verwaltung). Wir euch, eure eigenen Becher für Getränke mitzubringen.
Neben dem traditionellen Window Decorating Contest und dem Ugly Sweater Contest haben wir auch eine Winterolympiade mit einer Reihe von einzigartigen Spielen entwickelt.
Winter Olympiade: Bildet Gruppen von 4-6 Personen mit euren Labor-/Abteilungskollegen und meldet euch mit eurem Teamnamen via wintersymposium@age.mpg.de bis zum 8.12. an. (Überzeugt euren PI/Leiter der Facility/Abteilung, mitzumachen, und erhaltet einen Extrapunkt).
Window Decoration Contest: Die Frist für die Dekoration und die Anmeldung eurer Gruppe ist der 08.12.2023. Um sich anzumelden, sendet bitte eine E-Mail an wintersymposium@age.mpg.de mit dem Namen der Gruppe, der Nummer des Zimmers/des Ortes, an dem die Dekoration angebracht werden soll, und, wenn ihr möchtet, mit einer kurzen Beschreibung des Themas. Die Gruppe mit der besten Dekoration wird mit einem Preis ausgezeichnet!
Information für Teilnehmer der elektronischen Zeiterfassung:
Die Teilnehmer an der elektronischen Zeiterfassung, die bei der Winterparty anwesend sind, bekommen ihre Arbeitszeit bis 18.00 Uhr gutgeschrieben.
Bitte bedenkt, dass die maximale Stundenzahl von 10 Stunden/Tag nicht überschritten werden sollte, da ab dann die Stunden verfallen und nicht angerechnet werden können.
Wenn Ihr das Institut im Laufe des Tages verlasst, um z. B. mit Kollegen einen Glühwein auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt zu trinken, vergesst bitte nicht aus- und bei Rückkehr wieder einzustempeln. Die Verwaltung bittet um Kenntnisnahme.
Eintritt für die Winterparty: Intern: 5€, Kinder (jünger als 10 Jahre): kostenlos, Kinder (10 Jahre und älter): 5€, Externe Gäste: 9€
