The calendar year 2022 is slowly going to an end. To celebrate and summarize this year, we would like to invite all of you to the

MPI AGE Winter Symposium & Winter Party 2022 on December 15th.

The event will take place in the MPI AGE Auditorium and it will start at 2:30 pm with symposium lectures according to the plan:

14:30 - 15:00 "End of the year" talk by our directors
15:00 - 15:30 Dr. Ina Huppertz
15:30 - 16:00 Dr. Zak Frentz
16:00 - 17:00 Guest speaker: Prof. Helen Morrison
17:00 - 17:45 Networking break

18:00 - 21:00 Winter Party

During the symposium, our directors will summarize 2022, and we will have the opportunity to hear short introductory talks from our new Max Planck research group leaders, Dr. Ina Huppertz and Dr. Zak Frentz. We will learn even more about ageing from our invited guest speaker Prof. Helen Morrison, who will talk about “Peripheral nervous system ageing: Immune-nerve crosstalk “.

Finger-food will be provided during the networking break.

According to our tradition we also would like to announce the Window Decoration Contest! Every group can participate and the deadline for decorating and registration of your group is 05.12.2022. To register you should send an email to wintersymposium@age.mpg.de with the name of the group, number of the room where decorations are set and if you wish, short description of your decoration theme. The group with the best decoration will be rewarded with a price!

Let's take this opportunity to get to know each other better at the Winter Party that will be held after the symposium. We will provide mulled wine and some snacks (thanks to donations from MPI directors, group leaders, core facility leaders, and members of the administration). During the party, we will announce the winners of our Window Decoration Contest, and there will be an opportunity to participate in games provided by the organizers. When you register, you will have the opportunity to submit your song requests (winter and party songs).

Die Veranstaltung findet im MPI AGE Auditorium statt und beginnt um 14:30 Uhr mit den Symposiumsvorträgen nach dem Plan:

Während des Symposiums werden unsere Direktor*innen das Jahr 2022 zusammenfassen und wir werden die Gelegenheit haben, kurze Vorstellungsvorträge von unseren neuen Max-Planck-Forschungsgruppenleiter*innen Dr. Ina Huppertz und Dr. Zak Frentz zu hören. Noch mehr über das Altern erfahren wir von unserer eingeladenen Gastsprecherin Prof. Helen Morrison, die einen Vortag halten wird über “Peripheral nervous system ageing: Immune-nerve crosstalk“.

In der anschließenden Networking Break wird es Fingerfood geben.

Gemäß unserer Tradition möchten wir auch den Window Decorating Contest ankündigen! Jede Gruppe kann teilnehmen, und die Frist für die Dekoration und die Anmeldung eurer Gruppe ist der 05.12.2022. Um sich anzumelden, schickt bitte eine E-Mail an wintersymposium@age.mpg.de mit dem Namen der Gruppe, der Nummer des Zimmers/Ort, an dem die Dekoration angebracht wird, und, wenn ihr möchtet, eine kurze Beschreibung des Themas. Die Gruppe mit der besten Dekoration wird mit einem Preis belohnt!

Lasst uns die Gelegenheit nutzen, um uns bei der Winterparty im Anschluss an das Symposium besser kennenzulernen. Wir werden Glühwein und einige Snacks bereitstellen (dank der Spenden der MPI Direktor*innen, Gruppenleitungen, Leitungen der Core Facilities und Mitgliedern der Verwaltung). Während der Party werden wir die Gewinner unseres Window Decorating Contest bekannt geben und es wird die Möglichkeit geben, an Spielen teilzunehmen, die von den Organisierenden bereitgestellt werden. Wenn ihr euch anmeldet, habt ihr die Möglichkeit, Songwünsche (Winter- und Partysongs) einzureichen.
