Why do I need a data management plan, and what should it entail? It is important to plan how you handle your research data, even before you begin a research project—and not just for the funding application. Various questionnaires, tools, and checklists can help with this.
Like several other institutions, the Max Weber Foundation uses the RDMO (Research Data Management Organizer) tool and has developed its own questionnaire in collaboration with researchers from all institutes (published on github).
During the 2-hour workshop, we will discuss challenges of data management plans, such as sensitive data and international archives, based on current research projects. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions relevant to their own research projects. The workshop is designed both for absolute newcomers and more experienced RDMO users.
This workshop is primarily aimed at researchers at the Max Weber Foundation. External researchers can also participate; they will be provided with a temporary guest account for the workshop.
Please note: In order to enable all researchers to participate at a convenient time of day, the workshop will be offered twice – on two different days at different times. Please indicate which date you would like to attend when registering.
