Dear colleagues and friends,
After more than 25 years at the Max Planck Institute in Göttingen, and on the occasion of my retirement as Department Director next year, I would like to invite you to a special two-day symposium. The event, entitled “The INs and OUTs of Glia” will take place on February 16–17, 2026, at the City Campus of the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences (MPI-NAT).
The program will feature contributions from former and current colleagues in Göttingen (“the INs”) and an equal number of selected international guests (“the OUTs”) who have significantly shaped our understanding of glial biology (see attached program). The symposium is also intended as an opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, exchange new ideas, and discuss the future of neurobiological research.
I would be delighted if we could meet again on this occasion, and take the opportunity to celebrate a little as well. Even for those less enthusiastic about glia and myelin, the informal gathering will certainly be worth attending.
Please save the date!
With best regards,
Klaus-Armin Nave
