Description

In this project, we study one-dimensional quantum spin chains with constraint dynamics. The constrain is that an additional quantity, the first moment of the magnetization, is conserved. It has previously been observed that models with this additional conservation law exhibit slow dynamics; in particular, we focus on the magnetization transport, which is subdiffusive. It is of particular interest to know whether this kind of anomalous transport breaks down in the presence of local quenched disorder. To answer this question, we study the power law decay of the spin auto-correlation function, the scaling of the RMT time, and the exponential decay of magnetization modes.
