Over the next weeks, we will introduce and discuss several aspects of the theory of Fourier integral operators with complex phase. There are two possible approaches; one using almost analytic continuation and an algebraic one via positive Lagrangian ideals. Part of the program consists in a comparison with the much related canonical operator of Maslov
