DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Anja Gerbes (GWDG)\n\n\nAbout the event:\nTitle:\nGe
nerative AI and Deep Learning with MATLAB: Applications in Medicine\, Neur
 oscience\, and Geoscience\nSynopsis:\nA hands-on day for researchers and s
tudents who want to apply AI with MATLAB — using low-code and no-code wo
rkflows wherever possible. Morning: a short overview of classical ML\, dee
p learning\, and generative models. Afternoon: three focused hands-on sess
ions on Generative AI — using it in MATLAB\, connecting external AI serv
ices\, and building your own agents. Examples drawn from medicine\, neuros
cience\, and geoscience. Temporary MATLAB Desktop licenses provided.\nWhat
you will take away:\nConfidence to evaluate AI approaches for your resear
ch\, a working toolkit of low-code MATLAB patterns\, reusable templates fo
r connecting LLMs to your analyses\, and a starter agent you can adapt to
 your own domain.\nSpeaker:\nAkhil Gopinath (MathWorks)\nPrerequisites:\nBa
sic MATLAB familiarity is helpful but not required. Bring a laptop with MA
TLAB Desktop pre-installed using the workshop license (sent ahead of the e
vent). Stable internet needed for Sessions 3 and 4.\nAbout the series:\nTh
 e NHR‑Nord@Göttingen Special Classroom series offers a hands‑on lear
ning platform where industry professionals and academic course providers b
ring their expertise directly to our community through instructor‑led co
urses rather than traditional talks. In each session a member of a partici
pating organization presents a concise\, content‑rich introduction follo
wed by an interactive\, practice‑oriented module (such as live demos\, c
oding labs\, simulation workshops\, or design sprints) culminating in a dy
namic Q&A that lets participants ask detailed technical questions and expl
ore real‑world applications. By joining these courses you gain immediate
ly applicable skills in areas like data science\, sustainable computing\,
AI ethics\, cloud engineering\, and emerging research trends\, while also
enjoying direct access to the experts shaping today’s technological land
scape and networking with peers across academia and industry. Regular atte
ndance keeps you at the forefront of innovation\, expands your toolbox\, a
nd connects you with the minds driving tomorrow’s breakthroughs. If you a
re interested in the event\, please register directly using the “Registe
r” button. The BigBlueButton room details for online participation will
be sent out the day before the event via email. Participation is free of c
 harge.\n\nhttps://events.gwdg.de/event/1450/
