In this hands-on session we would like to share experiences, discuss approaches and test tools that bring Open Science and AI enhancements to the scientific writing process.

For this, we will consider various stages and aspects of the scientific writing process and scholarly publishing. In particular, we would like to discuss what criteria should be considered when look into evaluation frameworks and checklists, to better understand the functionalities, positive aspects as well as potential pitfalls.

• AI in writing and publishing: What criteria might be used for selecting and evaluating tools, what do publishers' AI policies and requirements for disclosure statements (what needs be reported and how)

If a tool is presented, please take into account:
- What is the general goal? What training data is used?
- What are the main use case(s), and basic functionalities?
- What works well?
- What are potential pitfalls of the tool?

group work, select one AI tool, collect information to answer an evaluation framework - what are the overall conclusions (to use or not, under what conditions?)
